Safety guidelines
Enkind helps neighbors document barter trades. Members meet and fulfill trades themselves. Use these guidelines — they are not legal advice.
Before you trade
- Prefer people you already know through the community.
- Meet in public places for goods handoffs when you do not know the other person well.
- For services in a home (babysitting, repairs, lessons), bring a known contact or choose a daytime window and tell someone where you are.
- Do not share payment credentials, government IDs, or unrelated personal documents in chat.
During and after
- Put clear obligations and timing in the agreement before you sign.
- If something feels wrong, pause the trade and use Report on the listing or member.
- Rate honestly after completion — reputation is how communities self-police.
Reporting
Signed-in members can report a listing or member from the listing page. Reports go to community admins first, then may escalate to the platform queue (same path as trade disputes). For emergencies, contact local authorities — Enkind is not an emergency service.
